What does it cost? Not much actually.
The point of a charitable auction is to raise money for the charity, not the web-site!
You still didn't tell me what it actually costs! We were getting to that. Our flat fee (in NZ$) is $500 plus GST. Charitable organisations can apply to us for a rebate of up to 100% of that fee. (We think you will have to agree that is not much!) If you use our ecommerce facilities for ticket sales and or auction payments, then there will also be a "secure payment facility" charge of $50 plus GST per month during the period of the auction, which can also be rebated on application. When do I pay? Well we don't really expect you to pay up front. After all, the funds you are raising come in when the auction is finished. So that is when we would like you to pay as well. When your auction is finished we will send you an invoice. If you're not delighted with our service, and the contribution we have made to the success of your auction, then don't pay the bill. Othewise send us a cheque and tell lots of people about our site! Why do you do it? Good question. Call it a sense of civic responsibility, or if you like, a belief in "givers gain".
