Not every potential bidder will be able to attend your live auction event.

A proxy bid allows bidders from around the country (or even around the world) to place bids in your auction that you place on their behalf on the night.

This widens the scope of potential bidders in your auction and should help you reach the best price for each item.

How it works

You need to elect some trustworthy officers of the charity to act as proxy bidders. They simply bid on behalf of the people placing the proxy bids, beginning at the lowest possible bid, and only raising the bid if necessary. Proxy bidders cannot exceed the maximum amount specified in the proxy bid.
